Last week in Whitehorse and across much of the Yukon, it was –40 or colder with windchill for several days. Cold snaps like that are expected, yet they still catch us off guard because of how intense they are. The short walk from the house to the car without gloves, and the scramble to unlock the door before your hands seize up. The extra attention we give to our wood stoves and other heating sources through the night just to keep things steady.
These are the realities of life in the North. They are shared experiences, and they have a way of bringing people together.
The experiences we have here, along with those we bring with us from elsewhere, are reflected in our work, how we build friendships, and how we show up in our communities. They influence how we think, how we communicate, and how we solve problems.
When we recognize and value those experiences, we make better decisions and build stronger connections. We can build and innovate solutions that fit the place we live and the realities we face because we are here, we understand, and we take pride in what we create.
We are proud to be a Yukon founded and headquartered company, grounded in the realities of life in the North. Our work is led by those experiences here, and supported by a broader team who engages closely to understand the place, the people, and the conditions we are building for. Together, that shared understanding and range of perspectives, shapes how we approach our work, how we collaborate, and the results we deliver for our Northern clients.
